How to Apply Your Makeup like a Professional

Apply makeup like a professional in 20 minutes or less. The first thing you'll need to do is choose a concealer. For this example choose one that is a shade lighter that your foundation. Apply the concealer to your face with a wedged makeup sponge. After you have applied an even coat of concealer to your entire face, you'll need to choose a foundation.

Choose the Correct Foundation

Choosing a foundation can sometimes be a big headache. Colors never seem to match your skin tone just right,
and when they do they become discontinued. We feel your frustration and offer these few tips:

-If you find a foundation that works for you, buy a lot of it. A girl can never have too much product after all.

-Test your foundation on your jaw-line and not on the back of your hand. This will give you more
accurate results when matching a foundation to your natural skin color.

-If you are having difficulty matching your skin tone because the foundation is either too light or too dark, you'll need to pick the color that is as close to your skin tone as possible. Apply the chosen color evenly over your
entire face and blend into neck. By doing this you'll create a more natural looking skin tone.

Applying Foundation

Now that you have chosen a foundation that works for your skin tone you'll need to apply it. If you're using a liquid based foundation apply it to the central region of your face in dots. If you are using a powdered based foundation apply it by using a circular patting motion. After you have applied some foundation to your face you'll need to blend it out with a wedged makeup sponge or a kabuki brush. Once you achieve even coverage with the foundation you'll need to apply some powder.

Powdering Your Face

Once you are happy with your foundation you will want to make sure it will last. Using a kabuki brush apply a
light coat of loose powder to your entire face. This will extend the life of your makeup; and that means fewer
trips to the ladies room for you.

Applying Makeup to the Eyebrows

Now that you have applied your foundation and set it with a loose powder, you are ready to do your eyebrows. We recommend that you use a powdered eyebrow shadow on brows rather that a pencil. A pencil requires a
more experienced hand, and often time an inexperienced user may end up with an unnatural look. To apply your powdered eyebrow shadow correctly you'll need a hard, slanted brush. Work your brush form the eyebrow
break, outward. Following the grain and contour of your brow, pull the slanted side of your brush smoothly
across. Do your other eyebrow the same way.

Adding Allure with Eye Shadow

After completing your brows, move on to applying your eyes shadow. Get yourself a couple of good eye shadow brushes, we recommend Bare Escentuals or Max Factor. Also you'll need to have at least three colors of eye
shadow to choose from, a light, a medium, and a dark.

Once you have your eye shadows chosen, select the lightest one for application. Using an eye shadow brush,
sweep it across your entire lid, from brow to lash line. With the same light color repeat this step on your other eye. Check both eyes for consistency before applying the next color. With your eye shadow brush apply the next
darker color to both your lower eye lids.

You are now ready to apply the darkest color, but first you'll need a smaller brush, we recommend using ¼ or smaller. Use the smaller brush to create a thin line, which contours the crease of your eyelid. Do the same for the other eye. Next use your eye shadow brush to blend both of you eyes. It is important to use a gentle sweeping motion when blending eye shadow. Be careful not over blend and wipe makeup away, you simply want to create
a softer look. Finish each eye with a quick and gentle (pressed) powder.

Creating Pop with Eye Liner

Your almost finish with your complete makeup lesson on "How to Apply Makeup like a Professional", but now its time to go over eyeliner application techniques.

To apply eyeliner you'll need to purchase a good eyeliner pencil. We recommend that you get yourself a "Chanel", Chanel Le Crayon Yeux eyeliner pencil. The Chanel Le Crayon Yeux is a wonderfully easy to use pencil which performs beautifully. With your eyeliner pencil, line all the way across the upper lids, below where your eyelashes begin. Now line the lower lids, below where your eyelashes begin about 2/3 of the way in. For a darker look, line the lower lids all the way across. At this point of the makeup lesson your eyes should really be starting to pop. But something else is needed to create the wow factor; Mascara!

Dazzling Mascara

Mascara is an important part of creating eyes that really grab your attention. So we'll go over a few quick tips in applying it.

-Applying mascara can get messy if you have too much on your wand. Never over load your mascara brush with too much product, this will cause clumping and looks terrible.

-Gently apply two or three light coast of mascara to each eye. Use an upward sweeping motion on the upper
lashes and a low sweeping motion on the lower lashes. Doing this will create a full, feathery look which will make your eyes standout.

Blush Not Blemish

Applying blush can be tricky if you don't know where to apply it. Putting blush in the wrong spot could make
you end up looking less like glamorous, and more like glamour bust!

Applying blush can also be very simple if you know where and how to apply it. First you'll need to find the apples
of your cheeks. You can do this very easily just by smiling. Once you have established where your apples are,
apply blush on or below the apples. Use a fluent sweeping motion when applying your blush. Be careful not to apply too much blush.

Kiss me Baby

Now it time to apply color to your lips. Pick a color that works well with your skin tone and your outfit, don't be afraid to mix and match colors. After a color is chosen apply it to your lips. To line your lips use a lipstick liner.
Always line your lips with a similar color tone as your chosen lipstick. Avoid combining very dark lip liner and pale lipstick. Be sure to apply lipstick to your lips before applying any liner.
